► Sep. 21st, the 3rd Unilever-RSC International Symposium
on Functional Materials Science was held in our school, Prof. Jiang was present in this symposium and gave a lecture on "Fabrication of multidimensional graphene and its compatibility to other materials"

► Our latest review on molecular recognition controlled hydrogel(DOI:10.1039/C2PY20693E) has been published on Polymer Chemistry

► 17th Sep., Our laboratory was open to the public. the students from the affiliated middle school (senior) and the second affiliated middle school (junior) of Fudan Univershity visited our group. with the guide of Lei Chen and Yu Zhao, they had a brief impression of our history and interests. ► Sep. 7th, the 1st Polymer Chemistry International Symposium sponsored by Tsing Hua University, Soochow University and Fudan University was held in our school. Prof. Jiang gave the Opening remarks as the chair. 8 scholars from University of Warwick, Vanderbilt University, University of Florida and Fudan University gave lectures on their work.

► .Prof. Ming Jiang, Dr. Guosong Chen, graduate students Kongchang Wei and Lu Su, attended "Warwick 2012" MacroGroup UK International Conference on Polymer Synthesis & UKPCF International Conference on Polymer Colloids. Prof. Jiang gave a plenary lecture entitled "Hybrid Inclusion Complex (HIC) and its Key Role in Constructing New Polymeric materials". Dr. Chen gave a invited talk on "Self-assembly from Sweets". Kongchang and Lu presented their works in poster section. On July 13th, Warwick Polymer, namely Prof. Rachel O'Reilly and Dr. Remzi Becer, organized a one-day "Warwick-China" symposia. Kongchang and Lu gave presentations on their own research with students from Warwick University and other students from Tsinghua University, USTC, Tongji University and Soochow University. Afterwords, Prof. Jiang and Dr. Chen visited Department of Chemistry, Cambridge University, where Prof. Jiang gave another lecture "NCCM and HIC" invited by Dr. Oren Scherman. Finally, Dr. Chen went back to Warwick University and stayed there for one week for a deep academice exchage, which was sponsored by Journal Grants for International Authors from RSC.

► May 11th, Prof. Štěpán Podzimek from University of Pardubice visited our group and gave a lecture titled "Light Scattering：A Powerful Tool for the Characterization of Synthetic and Natural Polymers"
|
|
► Our PhD students Jianghua Liu, Qing Liang, Juan Guo, Jianing Qi and graduate students Zhifang Chen and Qian Yang have past the doctor or master defense.
|
|
► From May 6th to 9th, Prof. Ming Jiang, Prof. Guosong Chen and Fuji Sakai have attended the 16th International Cyclodextrin Symposium which was held in Nankai University, Tianjin. At the symposium,Prof. Jiang gave a plenary lecture named "Hybrid Inclusion Complex(HIC) based on Cyclodextrin-Coated Nanoparticles in Constructing New Polymeric Materials",and Prof. Chen gave a oral presentation. Sakai attened the poster exchanging during the sumposium.

► Prof. Jonathan W. Steed from Durham University, the UK has visited our group and give a lecture named "Supramolecular Gels: Responsive Soft Materials"
In the afternoon,the "Symposium of Young Scholars on Supramolecular" was held by our group at Room511, East Guanghua Tower. Five lectures were given by scholars from East China Normal University, Suzhou University and Fudan Uinversity including Associate Prof. Guosong Chen from our group. Prof. Steed and Prof Ming Jiang made the concluding remarks at the end of the symposium. PICTURES

► The exchange seminar between the research group of Professor Fuyou Li from the Department of Chemistry and our group was hold on Jan.3rd. Associate Professor Guosong Cheng hosted the meeting and Professor Jiang made opening words. Professor Li made a report on his experience in research life at the end of the conference: He emphasized on persisting in an eye of discovery and a spirit of perseverance.

► Assistant Professor Yanli Zhao from Nanyang Technological University visted our group on Mar. 12th and gave a lecture on Multifunctional Nanoparticles for controlled Drug Delivery.

► Nov. 11th, Our 9th Group Meeting of Ming Jiang, Daoyong Chen and Ping Yao's Group(the JCY Group) was held at 424 Yuejin Building. At the meeting, three lectures were given by Yafen Wang, Xuzhe Ding and Mingchang Lin. After the working conference, Prof. Jiang gave a lecture on the history and spirit of our group. PICTURES

► Prof. Shiyong Liu, Our group alumni from the USTC was invited as one of the three guest-editors to compile a special issue in Macromolecular Rapid Communications which "highlight the outstanding research of 21 young scientists from around the world". For he is one of "the well established scientists" who are "still young enough to know the latest generation of polymer scientists from their post-doc times". link

► Dr. Chen and Prof. Jiang won the 6th Feng Xinde Polymer Prize.
The yearly award sponsored by ELSEVIER is for the Chinese communication authors of excellent articles that published on Polymer in the past year. And our article (Polymer, 2011, 52, 3647-3654) was judged as the only best one by the jury

► The 8th Group Meeting of Ming Jiang, Daoyong Chen and Ping Yao's Group(the JCY Group) was held at 424 Yuejin Building on March 24th, 2012. At the meeting, three lectures were given by our alumni, Prof. Li Liang from Jiangnan University, Fuji Sakai from Jiang Group and Qian Yang from Chen Group. At the end of the meeting, Prof. Jiang announced the winners of "Self-Assembly Group Award"("SAGA")in 2011, Baoru Yin from Yao Group, Yafen Wang and Mingxiu Xie from Chen Group, Kongchang Wei and Lu Su from Jiang group won the Second Prize.PICTURES
