2024.09.13，Prof. Hiroshi Abe from Nagoya University visited the Department of Polymer Science at Fudan University. A report entitled "Efficient Translation Design of mRNA Based on Chemistry" was presented. The report describes the "PuremRNA" vaccine approach developed by their group to address the low purity of RNA vaccines. In the PureCap method, a hydrophobic tag is attached to the Cap analog, a crucial structure of mRNA, allowing the selective isolation and purification of translationally active mRNA. This method makes it possible to manufacture high-purity mRNAs with cap structure derivatives, which were previously challenging, facilitating the advancement of structure-activity correlation studies.
