From July 28 to 30, IUPAC Macro2026 was held in Kuching, Malaysia. Professor Chen and Long Li attended the conference and each gave invited talks in parallel sessions: Professor Chen's talk was titled Non-covalent synthesis of saccharide-based macromolecules with bioapplications, and Long Li's talk was titled Supramolecular chemistry empowers precise protein self-assembly. The IUPAC Macro series is the largest global gathering in polymer science. Professor Jiang Ming, as the first plenary speaker from mainland China, delivered a plenary lecture in a Zhongshan suit at IUPAC Macro2010 held in Glasgow in 2010. Among today's plenary speakers, besides veteran figures of great renown such as Professor Mitsue Sawamoto, there are also many representatives of the mid-career generation, such as our group's old friend Rachel O'Reilly. Among them, Makoto Ouchi from Kyushu University in Japan will give a talk in the first session of MEP2026, which opens in two weeks, and is well worth looking forward to. Beyond the academic exchanges, old friends not seen for a long time finally met again, and naturally were especially warm with one another—catching up on how everyone has been, taking group photos, and so on.
