2025.05.4-16,Prof. Chen was invited to Europe to attend the academic conference and paid a drop visit to the Netherlands
From May 4th to 16th, Prof. Chen completed a tight academic trip to Europe. First, go to Catania, the second largest city of Sicily, Italy, to attend the 15th Advanced Polymers via Macromolecular Engineering Conference(APME2025). As the only invited speaker from mainland China, she delivered a report. The conference website is: https://www.apme2025.com. This conference was founded by the late Turkish polymer chemist Yusuf Yagci, etc., and has a long history of 30 years.
Subsequently, on May 7th, Prof. Chen visited Leiden University in the Netherlands and gave a report. The university was founded in 1575 and is the first public university in the Netherlands. Dr. Su Lu, a member of our group, currently serves as an assistant professor at this university.
From May 8-9, Prof. Chen visited the world centre of supramolecular science ---- Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Netherlands. And she did the academic report in the famous supramolecular polymer chemist Bert Meijer professor named hall (https://www.meijerlab.nl/current-group-members/bmeijer/). Professor Bert Meijer and Professor Jan van Hest jointly organized the mini symposium. The co-speakers also included Professor Rainer Haag from Free University of Berlin in Germany and Professor Rein Uljin from the City University of New York in the United States. Both professors are leading figures in the international field of polymers and biomaterials. Within two days, Prof. Chen and several colleagues of Professor Meijer at TU/e, including Patricia Dankers, Ghislaine Vantomme, Rint Sijbesma, Luc Brunsveld, etc., as well as teachers and students from the Jan van Hest research group, had extensive academic exchanges and discussions.
From May 11th to 15th, Prof. Chen attended the 2025 self-assembly and supramolecular chemistry Gordon Research Conference held in Les Diablerets, Switzerland and gave an invited presentation for 30 minutes. The Gordon Conference is a prestigious and long-established international academic exchange platform. This series of conferences usually focuses on a specific topic and does not have sub-forums. It emphasizes the sharing of unpublished achievements and encourages equal academic exchanges between teachers and students.
